The A&D Employee of the Quarter for the second quarter of 2008 is Charles M Cooper II, better known as Zeus. Zeus is one of those folks who came to Newhaven as a client and in his heart never left. His official position is House Manager, but he is also a master mixologist (of music) and soul chef. In his own unique way, Zeus personifies the clean and sober lifestyle and carries out his responsibilities with the same flair. Soon he will be the A&D employee with the most amount of time in service to SWMMHC and will continue to be a main ingredient of the gumbo that is Newhaven. Press on, Zeus.

Summer 2008 Employee of the Quarter - Long-Term Services
- 06/04/2008 |
|
Verletta Coleman is the Long Term Services Employee of the Quarter. She has worked diligently since her transfer to the Mental Health Therapist position to provide therapy to individuals receiving services. She has also, without hesitation, been willing to change directions on a moment's notice to go work in one of the day programs when a staff member has called in sick across the region. She has worked as a Program Specialist, Day Support Program Manager, Elderly Program Manager, and currently as a Mental Health Therapist since she began her employment with the agency in 2004 at Lincoln LifeSkills. The willingness to be cross-trained in several jobs allows her to assist in providing training to new employees. She has also done this since she began her new position in January 2008. She is presently working in the Elderly program at Lincoln LifeSkills until an Elderly Program Manager is hired and trained for the position. She is also meeting with individuals receiving services to update charts to assist in maintaining compliance. Thank you, Verletta, for being a valuable employee to Southwest MS Mental Health.

Summer 2008 Employee of the Quarter - Mental Health Services

Angela Perrin is the employee of the quarter for Mental Health Services. Over the past months she has experienced a serious health crisis yet has continued to work. When most of us would have called in sick or requested leave, she has instead come into the office and carried on as if it is just another day. When having to miss a few hours of work due to doctors appointments, she has made the time up on Saturdays or by working extended hours. Angela continues to be helpful to the clients and staff, organized with routine job duties, and willing to go the extra step to make sure the job is done. She is friendly, professional, and responsible and someone I greatly depend on. Her dedication is admirable, and the personal strength she has shown over the past months has been an example to us all. I am so glad she is on our team and that I have the opportunity to work with her and to know her.

The first A&D Employee of the Quarter for 2008 is Thomas Coleman. Thomas is a former Newhaven client who returned as an on-call and full time employee. At present he is the Head House Manager and Building Captain at the Men’s Unit. Thomas accepts and performs his responsibilities and assignments with professionalism and a sense of humor, which are indeed assets when dealing with folks in crisis. He maintains close contact with his supervisors and those he supervises. He is a classic example of an individual in recovery, passing on what has passed to him. Thank you, Mr. Coleman. Spring 2008 Employee of the Quarter – Long-Term Services
- 03/07/2008 |
|
Long Term Services is nominating Paige Fortenberry for Employee of the Quarter. Paige is one of valuable employees that remain “behind they scenes” for Southwest MS Mental Health. She is rarely seen in the front of the building unless she has been asked to perform a job that nobody else “wants to do,” like answer the switchboard or data entry when other departments are short staffed. She has been called upon to fill in for the Accounting Dept. and the MIS Dept. for several months over the past year. She has worked hard to ensure the agency’s bills are being paid since Robin Borrows left the agency in December 2007. Her normal responsibilities to Long Term Services and the Training Dept continue as well. Your diligence and hard work for the agency is not going unnoticed and we would like to say “THANK YOU” for remaining dedicated to the task, putting in long hours to make sure the bills get paid and checks get cut for travel to prevent disgruntled SWMMHC employees. Thank you, Paige, for being a valuable employee to SMMHC. (Rita Brown-Bobkoskie)
