Division of Mental Health Services
The Division of Mental Health Services provides mental health services to clients of the agency through offices in each county of the ten-county region, as well as specialized services for children in selected schools in participating school districts.
Mental Health Services
Mental Health Services provided include intake assessments; individual, group, and family therapy; psychiatric evaluations and medication management; consultation; and emergency services. Additionally, pre-screening evaluations for civil commitments are conducted upon request from the Chancery Clerk in each county once an affidavit for commitment has been filed in that office. PASRR screenings, required for admission to nursing facilities for those having a serious mental illness or mental retardation, are also conducted upon request. The Director of Mental Health Services serves as the regional PASRR coordinator for these evaluations. All mental health services are provided by mental health therapists having a minimum of a Masters degree in a mental health-related discipline as well as licensure or certification to provide mental health services. All medical services are provided by licensed staff with specialized training and experience in the treatment of psychiatric disorders.
